Radiology

BackNext

Here in Radiology, many different kinds of studies can be done. Your physician may want to obtain a chest x-ray or some other kind of radiology procedure to better understand your condition.

We may ask you to wear a lead garment for certain tests, but don't be alarmed. The total amount of radiation that you receive from any one test is very low and we take every precaution to make sure you're protected.

If you're having a CAT scan or MRI, you'll need to answer some questions about any metallic devices or implants you might have. Sometimes people who are uncomfortable with tight places can feel a bit nervous about these tests. If you're worried about this, let your doctor know in advance. It may be possible for you to have something to relax you during the test.

If you're a woman, you'll be asked some questions about the possibility of your being pregnant. If there's ANY possibility that you COULD be pregnant, be sure to tell the staff.
